The region that South Staffs Water services is one of the most densely populated in the UK and the area has  6000 kilometres of mains pipes. Maintaining that supply network, and the infrastructure required to service it’s customer base, requires a £25 million per year investment programme and the skills of a dedicated and experienced team. 

Whilst the regulated water supply business remains the centre of the Group’s activities, it has expanded it’s operation in recent years and now incorporates a number of specialist services for other utilities, businesses and local authorities.

Aqua Direct is linked to the water supply business. The company provides spring and mineral water to UK Supermarkets and retailers, in addition it supplies tankered spring water to UK based soft drinks manufacturers. 

This modern high speed water bottling plant is capable of producing 12,000 bottles per hour, It is also used to provide water, free of charge, to South Staffs Water customers in emergencies.

This is Office Water Coolers, and the centre of it’s operation, located in Rugeley at Staffordshire. There is a growing demand for bottled drinking water in office and other working environments and Office Water Coolers supplies chilled spring water to over 3000 businesses and offices. The company provides a complete service supplying the water dispensers as well as the bottled water itself.

Underground Pipeline Services lays and maintains small diameter mains and is an expert in non-destructive pipe condition assessment service. In addition to South Staffs Water, UPLS also works directly for many other public authorities, businesses, and UK water companies. It is also adding new clients requiring reactive repairs and pipe condition assessment.

Integrated Water Services is a leading provider of water hygiene and water treatment engineering. Its capabilities also include the design and installation of pumping and dosing plant and large pump refurbishment. It has formed long-term relationships with its target clients who include many local authorities and has become a major partner providing a vital service. Typical of this is legionella control and monitoring for Solihull and Birmingham City councils.

Onsite provides a wide range of specialist services across the UK water and sewerage industry. It undertakes flow measurement and CCTV surveys of the sewerage network and also provides a 24/7 reactive and planned maintenance service, helping to prevent and control sewer flooding. In recent years Onsite has seen considerable growth and in a typical year completes CCTV surveys of over 2000km of sewers.

Onsite’s sewer relining business is the UK’s leading specialist in sewer pipe relining, a process which causes less disruption to the highway than replacement and is significantly less costly. Additionally the business replaces pipes using the pipe bursting method and is a specialist in auger boring.

Hydrosave provides a range of specialist water management and operational technical services to the water industry. It is a market leader in leakage management, providing a high quality service to customers through experienced employees utilizing the highest quality training, equipment and technology.

Between them, our water and wastewater businesses have contractual arrangements in place with all ten water and sewerage companies in England and Wales and with Scottish Water, along with contracts for a number of the water only companies.

Echo Managed Services provides high quality inbound contact management, billing and debt recovery services for the water industry and have three main call centres located in Belfast and Walsall. Customers from South Staffs Water, Severn Trent, Bristol and Wessex, and Northern Ireland Water all benefit from the range of excellent services Echo has to offer.
