Eden Geothermal Project appoints OnSite
The South Staffordshire Plc owned company wins competitive tender to design, supply and install a heat main to support the supply of geothermal heat to the facilities at Eden.
Eden Geothermal Ltd has selected OnSite, one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist contracting services, to deliver a heat main to support geothermal energy supply following a recent competitive tender process.
The team at OnSite will support Eden Geothermal in its objective to supply renewable heat to the Eden Project by designing, supplying and installing a heat main that will supply heat from the in situ geothermal borehole to the facilities at Eden. The 1.2km pipeline installation will comprise a pre-insulated hot water feed line and a cool water return line, both of which will be buried beneath ground level.
Once complete, the two-well Eden Geothermal project has the potential to supply all Eden Project’s heat and power needs, plus enough electricity for the equivalent of 7,000 homes.
