South Staffordshire Plc announces agreement to sell its water hygiene business carried on by IWS Water Hygiene to andwis Group

South Staffordshire Plc today announced that it has reached an agreement to sell its water hygiene business carried on by IWS Water Hygiene to andwis Group, a leading provider of technical and compliance services in the UK, and the parent company of Rock Compliance.

The water hygiene business operates in a market closely aligned to facilities management and environmental compliance. Following a strategic review of the Group’s portfolio, South Staffordshire Plc determined that the business would be better positioned for long‑term growth and investment under an owner fully focused on this sector. andwis Group brings established expertise, a strong technology-led approach and a clear commitment to expanding its presence in the UK compliance market.

South Staffordshire Plc’s IWS M&E business is not part of this transaction and will remain within the South Staffordshire Group as part of its core services and specialisms in the utilities and infrastructure markets it serves.

Charley Maher, Group CEO at South Staffordshire Plc said:

“This agreement reflects our continued focus on strengthening South Staffordshire Plc by concentrating on the core utilities and infrastructure markets where we can have the greatest impact. It supports our long‑term vision to help create a world where essential services and infrastructure deliver for customers, clients and our planet. As part of this, the water hygiene business will benefit from joining an organisation with deep sector alignment and strong growth ambitions. We are confident this move supports the ongoing success of the business and the customers it serves.”

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to complete on 02 March 2026.
