South Staffordshire Plc comprises South Staffordshire Water, a regulated water supply company, together with closely related non-regulated activities. These provide, through the Water & Waste Water Services Division, a number of specialist services mainly for other UK Water & Sewerage Utilities and aimed at the repair and maintenance of the infrastructure, and through Echo Managed Services, customer contact, billing and debt recovery activities for UK Water Utilities. A smaller business, Aqua Direct provides bottled spring and mineral water for retail and small commercial customers and bulk spring water for the soft drinks industry.
South Staffs Water continues to provide the highest level of water quality coupled with very high levels of customer service and operating efficiency as measured by Ofwat and amongst the lowest prices to customers in the UK.
The strategy for the non-regulated activities is that of growing specialist service businesses which are closely related to and benefit from the experience and know how of our core regulated business.
This strategy has guaranteed steady growth over the past 3 years.
